Journey to Gorakh Sindh with university friends

No doubt, travelling enable us to observe and learn about the things but it also create love, attachment and enjoyment with the families or friends with whom we travel this is why, Jalaluddin Rumi said “Travel brings power and love back into your life”. in our life, especially those fully enjoyed moments remain unforgettable which we encounter with the families or with the closest friends through travelling because those funny moments with love create deep bonding between us and remains in our mind forever like an illusion.

I also encountered such an unforgettable journey which remains in my mind like an illusion when I travelled from Sindh university jamshoro to visit Gorakh hilltop johi with my lovely classmates and close friends Mumtaz jamali and Zulifqar Khoso.basically, it was planned by Mumtaz jamali to visit the Gorakh as he was resident of that area.

From jamshoro to johi we travelled through local bus that made me some allergic from dust, resultantly vomiting occur due to suffocation inside the bus because of this, instead of sympathy, they Mumtaz and Zulifqar did jokes on me until they change my name” Ultii Oad” instead of Rajesh Oad. And really those jokes made me funnier and saved from boring during the travel.

After three hours struggling in local bus and getting headache, we reached johi city where we met with Aijaz jamali cousin of Mumtaz who receive us, we go along with him at his house where he shows best hostility with fun at night. After staying night at his house next day on 11am 17 October 2016, we started journey to Gorakh hilltop, interesting thing was that for visiting hilltop we have planned to ride on two bikes with another friend Attaullah from johi city that joined us there.

“It is almost hard to ride on bikes and on its curved path to reach Gorakh hilltop as there are many chances of falling due to unbalance of bikes, we are local peoples we know many incidents took place here but no doubt mostly people reach there because of the mastery driving”. Says Attaullah.
So, we started riding on bikes but we wasted much of the time because of the destructed road between the johi and the Gorakh which is not well useable for the vehicles due to which not only visitors suffer but also troubling one for the local peoples in emergencies to reach the johi city.
After facing this destructed road and getting some tiredness we reached below the hilltop, actually here, our adventurous exam started because we were going to be a ‘highest spot in Sindh’ (that is 1734 meters (5688 feet) above the sea level and ‘colder than another area’.

During the riding on the curved path, on some points we two from four friends have to lie down from the bikes due to unbalancing on the inclined path and because of coming of other vehicles in front of us. Because of this we also feel difficulty in breathing during the walking on the curved path but in real sense instead of these difficulties and having fear of falling down, gave no sense to come back because of beautiful scenery of green fields, lakes and jokes of our friend khoso whom we also call as kolhi of Nagarparkar after naming of our respected teacher Sohail sangi.

After two hours struggling we finally reached our destination at Gorakh hill top where peoples from different area were present and were enjoying cool weather.
That cool breezing air with greenery and with the cup of tea from jamali restaurant over there removed whole tiredness and made us fresher. After that we did photo shoot joyfully for keeping the memories in the record.

It is assumed that in the late 1990s, having done some work on Gorakh and hoping for funds from the federal, Liaquat Jatoi, the Sindh Chief Minister, invited Nawaz Sharif (Prime minister) to see Gorakh to make Gorakh accessible as a summer resort to the people of Sindh. But Liaquat Jatoi never got federal funds as much to turn Gorakh into Murree except the road which is now has been ruined but after all it is also duty of Sindh government to make better facilities here.

No doubt, there were a few restaurants were present with a store where we could purchase the things and food but it was very costly in price, like same was in the case of rent for staying one night in the restaurant was two thousand for outsider’s. Despite Gorakh authority announcement prices are not maintained by the restaurant owners.

So after visiting four to five hours over the Gorakh and feeling the beauty of it so called as “Murree of the Sindh “and getting some refreshment over there. We decided to go back as we reach jamshoro on the time. For that we again went to the downward path slowly and carefully with the enjoyment of beauty Gorakh with the friend’s chatter and laughter. With these laughing we passed the time reached at johi from where we come to the jamshoro by van. This journey will remain forever in our mind as it was visited by us in our university life.
